UCLA Anderson Business School
The UCLA Anderson School of Management was established in 1935 as the School of Business Administration. It was later renamed to the Anderson School of Management in honor of Howard R. Anderson, a prominent businessman and philanthropist who made a significant donation to the school.
In the early years, the school focused primarily on traditional business subjects such as accounting and finance. However, as the business world evolved, so did the curriculum at UCLA Anderson. Today, the school offers a wide range of MBA programs, including full-time, part-time, and executive MBA programs, as well as specialized programs in areas such as finance, real estate, and entertainment management.
UCLA Anderson is known for its strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation, and the school has a dedicated Center for Entrepreneurship that provides resources and support for students looking to start their own businesses. The school also has a strong international focus, with a large number of international students and a variety of study abroad programs.
Over the years, UCLA Anderson has consistently ranked highly in various MBA rankings, and is currently ranked #13 in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report. The school has also been recognized for its strong emphasis on diversity, with a large percentage of women and minority students enrolled in its MBA programs.
Some notable alumni of UCLA Anderson include Peter Guber (CEO of Mandalay Entertainment), Tom Shadyac Jr. (Director of “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” and “Bruce Almighty”), and Tony Hsieh (CEO of Zappos.com).
