Antara’s journey is honestly one of the more refreshing ones I’ve come across.

She didn’t come from a typical “MBA profile.” No corporate job, no linear career path, just someone who kept doing what felt right at different points in her life. After college, even with multiple IT offers in hand, she chose to become a computer science teacher. And not casually. She taught middle school students across West Bengal and Assam, built her own way of teaching coding, made it engaging, and actually got recognized for it.

Then life threw something completely different her way. When her father’s health deteriorated, she stepped in to take over their struggling CPG distribution business, something she hadn’t planned for at all, and in a space that’s largely male dominated. When I asked her why she took it up, her answer was very simple. Her brother was too young, and someone had to do it. Now that the business is in a much better place, she wants to build something of her own, especially in a setup where women aren’t really expected to lead or inherit businesses long term.

That clarity shows up in everything she does. She didn’t treat the GRE lightly either, went from a 328 to a 331 because she knew she could do better. And when it came to applications, she trusted the process fully. We spent a lot of time breaking down her story, understanding her decisions, and shaping a goals narrative that actually made sense.

Also worth mentioning, she had zero presence on LinkedIn when we started. And still pushed herself to attend events, reach out to tons of alums, and build her network from scratch.
