Darden Business School

The University of Virginia Darden School of Business was founded in 1955 as the Graduate School of Business Administration. It was the first graduate business school in the state of Virginia and one of the first in the South. The school was named after Colgate Darden, Jr., a former governor of Virginia and UVA alumnus, who played a key role in the school’s creation.
